Hope you’re well and have all had a good week?
I’ve been doing some spring cleaning this week and adding a few little “finishing” touches to the house, so this week’s blog is heavily “home” themed.
If you’ve been embarking on a renovation project lately and have come across any must-have items, then do let me know as I’m always looking to add to my collection!
Now, without further ado, here’s this week’s “Save, Spend, Splurge”.
Helen Richmond Design illustrated map card
Where to buy: Helen Richmond Design
This week’s “save” is an absolute bargain, coming in at just 50p – yes, 50p!
Helen is an illustrator based in Warwickshire and I just love her style. I have one of her prints in our lounge, but when I saw this little “Coventry” print pop up in her sample sale, I had to have it.
This is actually a greeting card, but I thought it would be the perfect addition to our bookshelf, so I cut off the back, framed it in one of my trusty IKEA frames and voilà – Insta-worthy “shelfie” styling at a budget-friendly price.
Helen has lots of different locations in these style of prints – as well as a whole horde of other designs – so make sure you check her out!
The Painted Anthology hand painted Victorian crock jar
Where to buy: Etsy
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m obsessed with flowers and anything vintage… so when I saw this pop up on the Painted Anthology’s Instagram page, it was immediately a must-have.
I’ve been following Holly for quite a while, and her small business is all about sourcing the most gorgeous ancient objects and hand painting them with lovely phrases and sayings.
I’ve actually been after one of these smaller posy-style jar for a while, but she sells out SO quickly that I had to set a notification on my Etsy account to alert me when a new item was posted! *fan girl*
It arrived beautifully packaged and the quality is second to none – like I said in my blog last week, there’s something truly magical about vintage/one-off pieces.
Oliver Bonas round marble dressing table mirror
Where to buy: Oliver Bonas
Okay, so if you’re a regular reader, you’re probably thinking “another mirror, really?!” but hear me out…
I’ve been eyeing up this Oliver Bonas mirror for quite some time now, but in all honesty was put off by the price tag.
Having seen it on a number of Instagram accounts, I knew it was exactly what I wanted for my dressing table but needed to make sure I was 100% committed to such a hefty price tag.
So, with shops finally open, I headed into my local OB last week to see it in the flesh… and the rest is history!
Admittedly, I had a discount code, which did bring the price down, but it’s totally worth every penny.
It’s large in size and has a gorgeous, solid, marble base with a lipped edge which is perfect for storing your jewellery on.
This is a real splurge, but as with last week’s mirror, it’s a total investment as its timeless style means it’ll be transferable, regardless of your interior style.
