Hope you’re well and have all had a good week?
I’ve felt a bit “meh” this week. Not sure if it’s the weather, or just an accumulation of everything, but it’s all felt a bit much lately.
If you’re feeling the same, this week’s blog is full of some of my latest scrummy purchases to help boost your mood.
Now, without further ado, here’s this week’s “Save, Spend, Splurge”.
L’Oréal Paris Skin Paradise Tinted Water Cream
Where to buy: ASOS
I’ve never been a fan of heavy makeup, but every summer I try desperately to find a tinted moisturiser that gives enough coverage but doesn’t leave my skin looking greasy.
After the heat last week, I decided to try again and was recommended the L’Oréal Paris Skin Paradise Tinted Water Cream and I think I may have finally found “the One”.
This gorgeous product is 70% water based and has a light texture that gives a gorgeous glowy coverage, without hiding your natural skin.
I’m naturally very freckly and like to show them off a little bit more in the summer, so the water-cream is perfect for allowing me to do just that – while also blurring out some of the redder areas/dark circles.
At a bargain price of £10.99 I would say not to expect a perfect colour match in the same way as you might with £40+/bottle competitors, but I mix together shade 02 and 03 and have found it to be pretty bang-on colour wise.
I have to admit that I haven’t used a high-street foundation in a long time, but this is something that’s definitely going to be a staple in my makeup bag going forward.
I purchased mine through ASOS (while putting in a clothing order, oops) but you can get yours from all main beauty stores.
Bloom & Wild “Florist’s Pick” bouquet
Where to buy: Bloom & Wild
With my supply of homegrown flowers coming to an end now we’re getting closer to autumn, I treated myself to a Bloom & Wild bouquet this week and I wasn’t disappointed!
The box was literally brimming full of gorgeous in-bud seasonal favourites, and as I write this now, nearly a week since they arrived, they are still blooming beautifully.
Admittedly, I had a £10 voucher which brought the price down, but if you pop my name in the “refer-a-friend” box, you should be treated to a little discount too!
What’s more, 15% of the profits of these bouquets go to the National Emergencies Trust which makes a self-indulgent purchase feel a little more selfless!
Dartmoor Photography A2 mounted print
Where to buy: Dartmoor Photography
While I love life “up north” I’m kind of sad that I haven’t been able to get back to Devon as much as I’d have liked to this year – thanks COVID!
I spent a lot of time on Dartmoor growing up, so this week’s “Splurge” is a gorgeous little reminder of home in a year where I’m really missing it.
These were very kindly gifted to me by photographer, Emily Fleur, who I’ve known for a long time, which makes it all the more special!
An A2 mounted print comes in at a very reasonable £60, but there are an array of sizes/prices to suit, whatever your requirement is.
(If you like her work, she’s also brilliant at event and family photography, so do make sure you check her out on Instagram @emily_fleur)
