Fake tan… you either love it or you hate it.
The results can be as equally extreme, its either the best decision you’ve ever made, and leave you feeling like a sun kissed goddess or alternatively you end up streaked from head to toe and smell like biscuits.
I’ve experienced both.
Thankfully, times have moved on from my school days where I was various shades of orange and left handprints everywhere, I went. Tanning has come along way and there is now a wide selection of different tans to suit a whole range of skin tones with everything from easy to pump mousses to every angle spray to silky lotions.
So, whether you love a golden tan or just the hint of a subtle shimmer I have tried several different fake tans’, and these are my top 3.
St Moriz Fast Tanning Mousse from £5.99
An absolute favourite of mine, this brand has something for everyone.
From gradual tans, to instant tans, hell they even have a fast tanning range all offered in various shades and consistencies.
I have tried several and I’m always impressed with the colour, easy application and most of all the smell.
It smells like holidays.
Fast activating and streak free this is my go-to tan for every day.
This multi angle spray has been a favourite of mine for over 10 years and is perfect if you are new to tanning or you just prefer a lighter glow.
Moisturising and quick to dry to the skin this product smells like apricots and is super easy to apply.
This is the higher end tan for me and one I will use if I want a deep tan. This one is ideal for me as I have olive skin, as the colour is particularly rich and dries in seconds.
Again, Bondi Sands offers a whole range of tans in mousses, lotions and they even offer a self-tan eraser, which is great if you want to ensure all previous tan is off before you apply fresh.
I wouldn’t use this tan every day but for me it is great for those special occasions.
My two tips for anyone who is new to tanning:
Exfoliate prior to application
And always, always, always use an applicator mitt!
