I’m going to be reviewing Sophdoesnails 2nd palette collaboration with Revolution and this one is called the Extra Spice palette! I have already done a review of her first collaboration so if you want to check that out then just click here. I’ve had this palette for a while now so I can’t quite remember where I picked it up from… however it is available on RevolutionBeauty, Superdrug and Beauty Bay for the cost of £10. Lets get into the review then shall we…
There are 18 shadows with 0.03oz/0.8g of product in each.
The eyeshadows come in a different packaging to the first one. The packaging is still made from plastic but the front of the palette is shiny rose gold and the back of the palette is matte light pink/cream. The name of the brand is in black lettering but Sophs name and the palette name is in the same light pink/cream lettering. The palette flips open and has a click shut mechanism which is very secure (sometimes its a little hard to open). Inside you get a full size mirror and instead of the shade names being on a removable plastic sheet like last time… they are actually printed on the palette underneath each eyeshadow.
I love how the packaging is different from her last collaboration because now you will be able to see straight away which palette is which! When I opened the palette I could see there is a good shade variety in here. I noticed that one half of the palette has more bright colours whereas the other half has more ‘wearable’ colours, this is very satisfying to look at and I also like how you have lots of choice! There are fewer shades in this palette compared to the first one but I personally don’t mind as having the 2 palettes gives me lots of choice. The palette doesn’t have a noticeable scent when opened. You can definitely create a lot of different looks from this palette and I also like that the shades are very different to the first collaboration because it minimises the chance of getting similar shades… this is almost like a sister to the other palette as it has shades in there that she couldn’t put in the first collaboration. The shades have quite decent pigmentation and are easily to blend on the eye. Again I love the shade names as they make the palette seem quite personal due to Soph picking them herself!
Disclaimer: Don’t always rely on swatches of shadows because sometimes they perform better on the eyes than they do in the swatches or vice versa… I just like to show swatches so you get an idea on what the colours look like.

I really enjoy this palette and definitely think it’s one to add to your collection. If you’re a fan of Soph or even if you’re not you should still pick this up. Do I need to own both palettes? This is probably a common question and in my opinion I would say yes as the majority of the shades in this palette are different to the ones in the first collaboration apart from the black. If you only want one of them then I would say go on your own personal choice as I can’t decide which I’d recommend more out of the two. I definitely think the formula is better in this palette compared to the first one but I just love them both too much to choose a favourite!
