It’s not a good skin month or 2…
My winter skin is well and truly here, the freezing cold and mean winds battering my face has caused all kinds of dryness. Plus for the past few weeks my usual moisturiser and cleanser have caused some serious irritation, which is irritating me (ha!)
Ngl though, I did continue using both products, oops – I won’t mention where the products are from as I don’t think my skins reaction is anything to do with the brand or the products themselves. About a week passed and my skin was as dry as a rhino’s and as red as a tomato, sexy right you can see what Lover Boy see’s in me right! I finally acknowledged that maybe the products are the issue so I started looking into products that would nurture my sensitive ass face. Unfortunately I didn’t really know where to start or what I could afford! All skincare now overwhelms me with the complexity of the science or the prices make my purse want to cry!
So when I was out for my food shop I happened to venture into Wilko and had a nosey at their own brand skincare whilst in the queue. I saw they had a variety of ranges: sensitive skin, vitamin c, smoothing. I reached for the sensitive skin moisturiser, face wash and vitamin c brightening serum!
I decided to completely alter my skincare routine. Each morning and night I used the face wash to give my skin a proper clean from the day or nights dirt and relieve the redness followed by the moisturiser each time. The moisturiser is very rich which is exactly what I needed to penetrate the really dry skin. After a few days my skin started to look less flaky but to touch it still felt very dry and tight. I’d say after 7 days of continuous use I finally felt my skin was much more hydrated. Eventually I started incorporating the brightening serum to give my skin a little boost and my god my skin feels as good as new, if not better! I am so shocked that for less than £10 I’ve managed to completely overhaul my skin and fix the winter skin I’d been suffering from!
We could probably all admit that we’ve spent a small fortune on skincare products over the years, testing trialling hoping one will actually do what we want it to do only to find it doesn’t really do what you need. Well Wilko, for me at least, have created a purse friendly sensitive skincare range that actually does what it says on the tin! Items cost less than £2.50 each, purse friendly if I’ve ever seen it!
To summarise, I would absolutely recommend the Skin Therapy Sensitive Skin Face Wash and Moisturiser as well as the Vitamin C Brightening Serum!
