Sundays… you either love them or hate them.
They’re a bit of a tumultuous love affair for me: I fall in and out of love with them depending on what I have planned the following week or how my weekend has been.
Saturdays are usually my day for getting things done, hair appointments, food shopping and lunches with friends. I tend to cram as much as I can into a Saturday so that the Sunday is a day just for me.
Here are six things I do every Sunday to make my Monday that little bit easier:
Start with a delicious breakfast
In the week I tend to eat my breakfast at my desk so on a Sunday I make sure I treat myself to some home cooked goodness, usually eggs of some sort with toast or fresh fruit. Taking the time to enjoy what I am eating rather than being preoccupied with work makes me appreciate the food and be more mindful of what I am eating.
Coffee and a read
I love having an hour to myself to just sit and watch the world go by with a coffee or have a read of a magazine and, of course, there is no better time to do this than on a late Sunday morning.
I also use Sundays as an opportunity to catch up with my Monday-Friday girls over a Starbucks and to catch up on our respective weeks.
Go for a walk
I don’t tend to go to the gym on a Sunday so I always (regardless of the weather) make time for a long walk, whether that be down the beach or in the pinewoods so that I can get my steps in. Not only is this good for me physically, but mentally it works wonders and helps to clear my mind and prioritise before the week ahead.
Sort my life out
Whether that be organise my food, plan my meals (hello slimming world), pick up the clothes I have left randomly around my room…basically, anything to make me feel organised before Monday.
Have a roast dinner
Wow my Sunday’s sure do revolve around food, don’t they?
I LOVE a good homecooked roast dinner on a Sunday, combined with a catch up with my Mum. It really is the simple things that make me happy.
Watch a film/boxset
Is there anything better that a film or boxset on a Sunday evening?
Tummy full, fresh sheets on my bed and a good few hours to delve into a new boxset.
How do you spend your Sunday?
