A New Year, A New Goal..
As the beginning of 2020 gets closer, the thought of making new years resolutions feels so daunting. The top of everyone’s resolutions these days – Get fit, loose weight and make more money, and of course the ultimate goal, spoken like a true pageant girl “world peace”. Now, I make resolutions every year and by the time the end of January comes I’ve broken every single one. So this year I’m planning on making wishes instead. People who know me will say I’m not materialistic at all, I get what I need and if I can justify a little treat then I will.
So my wishes for 2020 are:
Spend more time as a family – The one thing I’ve noticed is that I’m always busy and I’m always having to do or finish something. Usually this leaves me feeling guilty for not spending time with my daughter. So as of January, the dishes cant wait, along with the washing and cleaning! She’s already 7 and wont always be little. I intend to make the little moments count.
Make sure I take control of my mental health and self care – A lovely lady once said to me “Its not selfish, its self care”. Honestly my self care has been seriously lacking as of late. So it’s a must in 2020. Self care doesn’t have to be anything major, 30 minutes reading a book or having a relaxing hot bath.
And finally, do everything thing I can to better myself, both personally and professionally. I’m currently studying my Masters in Business Administration. Hopefully I’ll pass at the end of the year, and the possibility of a better, higher paid job.
I guess that I haven’t got a long list of my wishes for 2020, I’m pretty content with my life and my little family, the prospect of adding another little addition makes me happy.
So, make wishes instead of resolutions – they’re more likely to happen and will make you happier in the long run.
Happy New Year!
