I talk about my journey to self-love a lot and talking about it has made me realise how many people are struggling to do the same.
A daily struggle for myself and others yet one I am determined to overcome.
I over think a lot.
But let’s be honest who doesn’t?
And yet I know that life is too short, too short to spend time wasting hating myself, hating my body, comparing myself to others and basically living my life in the shadows of the person I want to be.
Because ultimately, hating yourself only leads to more misery.
I often wonder why it is so easy to love someone else yet when it comes to ourselves it seems impossible? Is it because we know all our own flaws, our weaknesses and failures?
But why should we wait to love ourselves?
Why can’t we love ourselves at every stage of our life? Even in the bad times.
Why do we wait until we lose weight to love ourselves?
Why do we wait for someone to love us before we love ourselves?
We do this because we are scared, we are scared to show the love we so often give to others to ourselves.
For fear of looking big headed perhaps. Fear of looking cocky and that we ‘love ourselves’
But really, who cares?
Time is precious.
The time is now to love ourselves, because quite frankly we deserve it.
When you don’t love yourself how will anyone else love you?
That voice in my head telling me I am unlovable that comes from my own insecurities, from the years of hating myself.
But I am loveable, I deserve love and I deserve happiness.
Ultimately self-love is the best kind of love because it is guaranteed. You will always have the love you have for yourself.
I think its time that we love ourselves.
