Anyone else re-watched Emily in Paris just for the outfits? Whilst most of the costumes designed by the legendary Patricia Field, may look out of place when you’re strolling down the high street, rather than the Champs-Elysees, it might be easier than you think to pay homage to the latest Netflix sweetheart.
As many of us are more used to tea stained tracksuit bottoms and t shirts these days, I think it’s even easier for us to get wardrobe envy. So, inspired by the couture on screen but limited by my bank balance, I wanted to see if I could create similar looks on a budget.
One of our first glimpses of Emily Cooper’s Paris wardrobe features clashing prints and statement boots – Je t’aime!

Boots: Boohoo £28.50
Tote Bag: Boohoo £10.50
Full outfit: £65.25
Of course, classic Parisian chic is captured quite early on and although I’m not sure my hometown could handle a red beret, I’m definitely looking at adding this dog tooth two piece to my collection:

Jacket: Boohoo £26.25
Skirt: Boohoo £15.00
Shoes: Boohoo £18.75
Bag: Boohoo £12.00
Full outfit: £72.00
And if you do want to try the red beret, ASOS have the perfect option for only £10!
One of personal favourites from the series, was the pink co-ord Emily wore for her Savoir meeting with hotelier Randy Zimmer, so I had to find a budget equivalent.

Top: Boohoo £5.00
Skirt: Boohoo £13.50
Boots: Boohoo £16.50
Belt: Boohoo £7.50
Full outfit: £42.50
With a flurry of outfits in each episode, some gems were easy miss and although we only got a glimpse of this one, it was a look I had to include.

Sunshine brights are a massive theme throughout the show including the gorgeous yellow dress from episode one and the iconic green coat from the Duree Cosmetics launch. This hot pink outfit is one you’re either going to love or hate.

You can even add knee high hot pink socks if you’re brave enough, just a quick google will give you plenty of options!
Although I’m not a fan of the bucket load of bucket hats featured – which annoyingly Lily Collins can somehow carry off (we’re not all blessed with her ridiculously symmetrical face), the next outfit captured the charm of Mademoiselle Cooper perfectly.

Finally, I couldn’t ignore the ode to Audrey Hepburn when Emily gets to the ballet and one of the most instagrammed scenes from the show.

The essence of the styling for Emily in Paris lies in the quirky, originality combined with unusual colours and accessories. It’s slightly less OTT than Sex in the City, but still far too overdressed for your average Sunday brunch in town, so, hopefully these inspired looks will help you bring a little je ne sais quoi to your wardrobe.
