Camp NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. This is a challenge that happens twice a year, in which you can choose a goal and spend the whole month trying to write a book. July’s is a more lenient version of November’s NaNoWriMo which has a set limit and working pace.
I saw through watching YouTube videos that this was starting in July and since I have a bit more time on my hands now I thought I might as well have a go and see what I can achieve in thirty one days.
This first week is supposed to be one of the most successful weeks in the whole process, however, this was not the case with me. So far I have only written fourteen pages when really I should be on seventy pages by now, so I am very far behind. However, from doing this I have learnt a lot such as even when you are not motivated and inspired you can still be creative and produce some pretty good stuff. This challenge is a good process as it gets you focussing on your project and allows you to create and get into a writing routine. So overall, this has been a valuable process.
I will continue to update you all each week of July’s NaNoWriM on how the process is coming and what is going. I can’t wait to see where my story goes and what happens over the next week.
